Welcome to the San Francisco Pier. Home of water, bird poop, boats, and delicious clam chowder sourdough bowls.

Today we went down to the pier (duh). We walked around, took pictures of boats, looked around Pier 39, got delicious clam chowder (it was the perfect lunch for a rainy, cold day), took a break, went to Hyde St. Pier, took more pictures of boats, went to Ghirardelli Square and ate a hot fudge sunday, looked in a coold spy shop, got fries at IN-N-OUT, then headed back home.
Overall, a great great day!

and just in case you couldn't tell, I had fun editing these.

Today started the wonderful interim week for Oceana High School. Pretty much there's no school this week and everyone is doing a different interim. So for instance, my brother Graham is gone all week at some Pie Ranch thing over by Santa Cruz. They're kind of farming and all that jazz and then at the end of the week they make...pies!
My interim is Photographing San Francisco and IT'S PERFECT!

Everyday this week we are going to a different SF dest (San Francisco Destination) and get to take pictures and do whatever all day. It's super chill. Like today we went to a part of Golden Gate Park, my group and I took pictures for a while then we just walked around, got some Chinese food, went to Jamba Juice, Jenny and I bought almost matching dresses at Crossroads (a really cute consignment shop that has SO  many cute dresses) that are perfect for summer,  then we met up with the rest of the group and took the bus back to Daly City BART.

and that my friends is what my week before spring break is going to be like. jealous?

Here's one place we were today. I really like the homeless dude playing guitar on stage.

Today after church we had some family time. Since we were downtown we went to Forever 21 so I could get some shirts and tank tops (they were a SUPER good deal). But I get really overwhelmed and kind of cranky when I shop at malls, or downtown, or in crowded areas in general. I just don't like it, that's why I don't shop at malls very often.
So I was relieved when we stopped by the Goodwill on our way home. I felt so much more relaxed at peace. no joke. I got a simple and plain dress from there. I like it a lot.

Isn't this the coolest Forever 21 you've seen though. It's about 3 or 4 stories and it just looks so old fashioned and awesome. I actually love the building more than the store itself.
But I am thankful for what I was able to get today. =)

Saturday (yesterday), our jr. worship team played at the SAY rally, a youth event. That took up our morning, then I came home and slept all afternoon because I'm still not feeling well. ugh!
but the theme was UP, and this was their background. It was so cute!

Friday Jess and Kelsey Pearce came over for dinner. After we went to the beach to try and catch the sunset. We almost made it but not quite. Then we went to Mitchell's for dessert!!
If you ever to go an ice cream shop that has tons of flavors, I highly recommend you try mexican chocolate. Oh my gosh it's heavenly!

Yesterday I stayed home sick. I've had this terrible nasty cough for a couple weeks now and just recently my nose has gotten all stuffy and gross. So we went to the doctor to check it out. I'm on antibiotics again and that's about it. Of course they're pills because I refuse to take that nasty cough syrup. Although I'm sure I would get over stuff a lot quicker and easier if I just took the luquid. But I can't. I just can't.
Man I hate being sick.

Anyways, since I stayed home I mostly just stayed in my room doing homework (yes that's what I do when I stay home, lame I  know), listening to music, texting Elise Jordan F, and resting. This is a cool sticker chalkboard thing my mom recently got for me. On it is some of the lyrics from 'How He Loves', I think it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and is definitely for sure my new favorite worship song. Listen to it!

Wednesday... I don't remember. But I do know that I cleaned my room. It was in desperate need of some serious cleaning and organizing.

82/365

Tuesday I finished my homework quick and then became bored even quicker. So I decided to make cookies. Usually when I make cookies they don't turn out too well, but these ones were GOOOOD!

I was tired yesterday, therefore you get a flower.

Sunday Taylor was here!!! We just chilled. Did some homework, caught up on our lives and hung out on the hammock (with my amazing peace blanket).
I love Taylor. She helps me let loose and bring out my crazy side;.
p.s. we were both wearing our Relient K shirts, you just can't see hers.

Saturday we went to camp and hung out with the Coverts and other peoples there.
It was fun, and sunny... and we were at camp. So I took advantage of a wonderful photography adventure. Claire and her friends Hannah let me take pictures of them... here are a few.
(there were a lot of hearts involved)

Today was another lovely day in Pacifica. Who knew it gets sunny and hot here? definitely not me. But it is and I couldn't be happier.
School was chill. We didn't have regular classes because all the seniors were presenting their senior exhibitions today. So all I had to do was watch 5 of them. easpy peasy. I had to pay close attention though becuase that's going to be me next year. AH! scary!!
Then I came home, put on shorts and a tank top, soaked up some sun, and almost ate a whole thing of saltine crackers. man those things are good.

my goal today was to get tan. I failed. all because of my stupid fair skin.

Today's picture is dedicated to one of my dearest friends: Summer Marie Hofford.
Today is her 17th birthday, and since I didn't get to say it to her in person this is my way of showing her I was thinking about her all day long.
So here it is...

HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY SUMMER! I love and miss you very very VERY much. I hope your
16 going on 17th birthday is just spledid. It sucks that I didn't get to spend it with you, but I'm thinking of you always.

I love you!
Love always,
Emily

p.s. you have absolutely NO idea how many times it took me to get a picture that I wanted. Just so you know.

76/365

Yesterday afternoon it was a very lovely day. And since I get out of school early on Wednesday's Stephanie and I went to the beach. I was dressed in red and black like a lady bug and she was dressed in yellow and black like a bumblebee. It was cute. Until I cut my pinky toe and it wouldn't stop bleeding. Not so cute.
I love Stephanie

Today I went to Berkeley.
All the 11th grade humanities (that's english & U.S. history) classes went on a field trip there today.
We went to see 'The Most Dangerous Man in America' a documentary about Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers. It was kind of interesting. Pretty much I just enjoyed:
a half day of school, skipping a math test, taking a school bus (it's been a while), eating lots of brownies, sitting in the biggest and most comfortable theatre chairs ever (with pillows available), taking BART back home, and all the while discussing amazing music with Madeline.
And the one thing that topped all of this wondefulness... THE SUN! It was out and warm all day today. It made me happy..

Stephanie and I also went to The Goodwill today and both left with dresses. They're really cute and I can't wait to wear mine. It makes me think of summer... oh summer, please get here fast.
This is a street musician playing in the BART station. I love them. <3

(a.k.a some of the coolest people ever!!), and after church we all went to the officers house for lunchy lunch. this is one of their cool cups.

Today I was out a lot. I made a couple trips to Costco. On the way to the car I found this key on the ground.
I made it into a necklace.
The sun was out all day.
It was Pacifica warm.
I was in love.

best. things. ever.
this is what I look forward to when I come home no joke.
the best peanut butter & jelly sandwich ever.

70/365

Yesterday I had a lot to do once I got home. Homework, worship team practice, homework, register for the SAT, homework, American Idol, The Office, homework, Project Runway.
I was wiped out and this was last minute, at like 10pm.

Today is my mom's birthday. We got her black converse (awesome), and these socks...=)
yes she wore them exactly like this when we went out to dinner.

This is one of my mom's scarves. I think it's pretty. I like it.

Mondays after long weekends = UGH UGH UGH!!! I seriously was falling in and out of sleep of first pierod. It sucked. I just craved my bed all day long.
For dinner we went to the Taco Bell on the beach by our house. It was really dark and rainy and stormy tonight... kind of creepy actually. Even as I sit here updating my blog I keep hearing all these creepy noises from outside.

This picture seemed a lot cooler than it turned out. It's all the lights in the reflection with rain drops on the window and the dark clouds outside.

I am now officially caught up, no I didn't die, and I am now going to sleep. goodnight world!
p.s. did anyone watch the Oscars last night?

66/365

Sunday- Before the morning service started I went on a photography adventure with Katie and Claire. I really enjoy taking pictures of/with them, because 1. Katie always tells me how much she loves it, 2. they're just really fun to hang out with, and 3. they're both incredibly gorgeous.

I totally scored yesterday morning too, because the sun was out and we found a perfect spot. I just wish the stupid field and fences weren't directly in the back.
They were trying to make a heart, apparently it was easier said than done.
I love this one of Katie becuase it reminds me of a fairy or something
<3 I love Katie and Claire, and sunny days, and camp, and taking pictures <3

65/365

Saturday- One of the things we did during the day was go on a pray walk. We walked through camp carrying these big rocks, and then built an alter with them. It was cool.
I told Claire and Graham to hold them up.

64/365

Friday I went straight from school to camp Redwood Glen for Youth Councils weekend.
It had a great night with some of my greatest friends.
1. Claire, Taylor and Katie
2. That night they gave us glow sticks for the meeting
3. Taylor and I played around with our cameas before bed. They didn't turn out so great. I just loved the colors in this one:

63/365

On Thursday I had stayed home. But I still had so much to do in so little time.
This is my sisters' bed spread/slippers. I walked past her room and thought that where her slippers were looked really cute.

62/365

I've always wondered why there's a random tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in my garage.

Also I had a lovely long skype conversation with Taylor Christine Covert this afternoon. Most of our time was spent talking about how we love The Buried Life and then looking at their website, twitter, facebook and flickr pictures.

My favorite is Jonnie. Isn't he cute?

61/365

Yesterday I had a MASSIVE headache, so I came home and took a two hour nap. It was lovely.
I took this picture while it was sunny for about two minutes before all the rain came. More flowers I know.

60/365

Happy first day of March everyone. Since it's March, and I get out of school in May, I can say that I get out of school in roughly two months. That just sounds SO great!

So just this weekend I was reading one of my dads music magazines and I found out that The Rocket Summer has a new CD out. I love The Rocket Summer so much. So I went on iTunes and streamed through it and decided to buy it since this a rare time that I actually have money.

It's called 'Of Men and Angels' and it's officially the first full CD that I bought on iTunes... ever.
If I like the group well enough then I just always always always buy the CD because I'm one of those people who have to hold the CD. But today I caved in. It was only $7.99 too, for 16 songs, so I figured why not?
oh and the flowers are just because it's MARCH and for some reason March makes me thing of spring and flowers.

here are some lyrics from the song "Nothing Matters" on the cd.

And I know it's not too sexy
That I'm singing about the blessings we get
When we give up ourselves for something good
It would be bigger than a promotion, motion-motion

Because nothing matters
Just tell yourself
Again and again
Nothing matters
But what we offer in love

Nothing matters

Pride will shatter
Our words will never be enough
Cause nothing matters
So I'll surrender to you

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful, wonderful, perfect day. The sun was out, it was warm, and it definitely felt like summer (which made me want summer SO much more).
So of course, since it was a nice day, what else would I do then go out and take pictures?
here's one of many that I came up with just messing around in my backyard:

this is Ramona (Mona) for short:

Then later we went to the Chinatown church for the united meeting. I went because our worship team was playing for it. Before it started my mom took me one the roof because apparently it has an amazing view of all over the city... and it did.
here's a cross that was on the roof (for some reason I love taking pictures of crosses):

and this ladies and gentlemen is chinatown (part of it). While I was taking this picture it smelled like top ramen. It made me happy.
