Hi, my name is Emily, and sometimes I really hate cleaning my room.
By the way, all the clothes on the floor are actually clean, I've been too lazy to put them away.

I got this chapstick at the mystery spot. duh.
And obviously this is a last minute picture which was take at like 11:30 last night, or something like that. I was too busy watching The Buried Life season finale (so sad) and writing exciting things in my journal.

Good Day!
I started off the day by attending Vintage Faith Church again. I would just like to say that I love that place. Absolutely love it. I love the people, the coffee at the Abbey, the music, the preaching... everything. I wish I lived in Santa Cruz so I could go there every week.

Then I had a photoshoot with my sister. What I like to call a sistashoot!

And finally, I ended the day by buying a hat, scarf and leggings for the winter at H&M and Forever 21. Now I will hopefully keep warm this winter.

Went to The Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz. Super cool place, and totally mind blowing. I can't even describe to you what it is. So look it up. But yes, Lauren is definitely leaning that far off of the table.

Went to camp for a weekend away. Since it's been freezing, I spent the evening drinking hot chocolate, watching t.v. and enoying the warm fire.

Just us, the Birksfam. It was a quiet and cozy day. I ate more mashed potatoes than I probably should, and finished the day with a nice walk through the dog park. It was another beautiful day, minus the cold.

On Wednesday Tucker left. So before he left we spent the afternoon showing him around the city one last time. It was a beautiful day!

random thought of the day that wouldn't leave my mind: I hate snow, but for some reason I wish so badly that I could be in Seattle right now, playing in it and having snow days. Instead I get freezing cold days without the snow, along with heavy winds and rain. boo. So to all my out of state friends... I am beyond jealous of you at the moment.

Yesterday I went to a studio to get my senior portraits taken. I'm really happy with how they turned out and I can't wait to order them and give them to people. Beforehand I got my makeup done at Origins, and I was happy with how that turned out as well. After my portraits we got ice cream and I had the best chocolate ice cream I've ever had in  my entire life.
All in all, it was a good day.
This is me all fancy-ed up.

this is my friend Tucker...

He has a message for you:

yesterday was a great day with great friends. We went to Pier 30 and Fort Point and I'm so happy that the sun was out and the sky was clear. It was beautiful!
then we came home and crashed. And by crashed I mean we all piled onto my bed and pretended like we were taking a nap.

Friday night Tucker arrived and the Coverts came over. Taylor and I got my bed... Claire and Lauren slept on the floor.

On Thursdsay I saw a pre-showing of Harry Potter before it came out. We got these pretty nifty badges along with goody bags of harry potter stuff. It was fun, not to mention the movie was pretty great!

I just wanted to point out my outfit again. When I got home I changed, and I realized that everything I was wearing was navy blue. awesome

Have you ever tried to play this song? Just the first few measures alone are some the hardest ones I've ever played. But I love this song so much I'm determined to learn it. Plus if Katie can play it without music... I can too?

Yesterday... not the best day in the world.
How did I fix that? By watching Glee all night instead of studying for a gov. test.
And then my parents brought me home my favorite truffles (which I'm pretty sure are made in heaven) and a cute little stuffed animal elephant. What should I name it?

Once again... I like California skies.

Today was a good Saturday. Pretty close to perfect.
I slept in until 10am (which I don't think I've ever done), I stayed in my sweats for a while, went to the thrift store, got mexican chocolate ice cream at Mitchell's, and talked to Taylor for a little bit. To top it all off, the sun was out all day and it was actually warm. I loved it.

I only wish I could've gone to The Rocket Summer concert last night, but I don't know anyone who likes them. That's ok thought because I got to see Switchfoot live on Jay Leno. I love those guys.

Here's one of my thrift store finds today, I'm in love with it...

yesterday was TWLOHA day! It stands for To Write Love On Her Arms.
I'm too lazy to describe what it is, so if you don't know what it is... look it up. =)
Basically you write LOVE on your arm. Here's mine:

Today = no school.
What did I do?... nothing.
I stayed in my pajamas all day, watching t.v. although there was nothing on, and being bored. But I did have some fun with my polaroid today. I missed Charlie.
also, did you know that rocks make good chalk?

Yesterday was my dad's birthday. Eric, Jim and Fulton were over and kept us laughing all night. It was a good time.
Here's all the guys:

So since I missed the last two days, today you get two pictures.
I swam in P.E. today and it was actually kind of fun. When I told Katie Helms about this she pointed out how weird it was because 1. I don't like swimming and 2. I don't like school, so how come I liked simming at school? I have no idea. But I did. weird.

these are the buttons on my bag for school. I also have one for The Silent Comedy, but it's on the other pocket. The one on the botton is my Seattle one. It's my favorite. <3

...and I missed Monday...=( ugh! I fail!

missed Sunday...=(

We were at the beach from 3:30 until 8 or 9 on saturday night saving spots for the corps cadets. It was a long day. But it was fun because I spent it with some of my favorite people.

California skies are my favorite! Especially at camp.

this is how I clean my room. I put everything on top of my bed in a huge pile then just go for it!

In 6th grade I wrote a letter to myself in the future that my teachers were going to send to us when we were seniors. I got it last week. It was hilarious but totally embarrassing.

last minute picture.

this is one of the pictures I took for my cousin Trina.
these are the girls on Halloween. =))

took a tour of Sonoma State and then picked out pumpkins. I loved Sonoma State, and I liked taking pictures of pumpkins.
this was buy the art department.
this was shaped as a heart... but it's hard to tell.
I like pumpkins
