303/365

haha... 3OH!3.. anyways. Yesterday was probably the best day ever in my entire life.
I went to the switchfoot concert in Santa Cruz with my dad, Graham, Ed, Claire and Taylor, and it was absolutely perfect. Here's a quick summary:
I bought a sweet new switchfoot shirt, we scored lots of free stuff, Taylor and I met/talked to one of the guys from the first band that played, we all met and talked to the second guy that played, Jon Foreman walked through the crowd and passed right through us, then afterwards we met them out back.
We got to meet 4 out of 5 of the guys from switchfoot, get our picture with them, have them sign our shirts and just chill outside with them for a while (with a small group of other fans of course).

Meeting Jon Foreman was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I admire him so much both musically and as a person. I was so happy that I got to tell him personally how much his music means to me and how much I think his EP's are perfection. He's a great guy and I can't wait to see them live again.

this was also a last minute picture. my closet.

Tuesday... I don't remember Tuesday. But as you can tell, this was a last minute picture.
Lauren and I were both on our parents' laptops across the table from each.

300/365

Today at school the Invisible Children organization came to our school to give a presentation. I remember seeing a film my sophomore year that they put out about the forced child soldiers in the on going war in Uganda, Africa.
Today was similiar, but not only did they focus on the war, but the film followed a group of American high schoolers who got to travel to Uganda along with Invisible Children in order to experience first hand what was going on over there. It showed them making friends and helping build schools that were destroyed during the fighting. We even had two men from Uganda come and share with us their own personal stories.
The whole thing was very moving... I cried, both happy and sad tears.

At the end they were selling t-shirts, bags, dvd's and bracelets to help support Invisible Children's work over in Uganda. I usually can't pass up an opportunity to support happenings in Africa because I love it so much and I know first hand that they need the support, so I bought this rad t-shirt. I decided on this one becuase, even though it was $5 more, the cotton it is made out of was grown and produced in Uganda, plus it has a cool Ugandan flag on the back.

All of this made me miss Africa. I wish so badly to go back there some day.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but a part of me is actually glad that the weather is all rainy, windy and depressing because I was able to wear this dress that I've been wanting to wear for a few weeks now. I got it at the thrift store and I thought it would be a perfect winter dress with tights and stuff, and I was glad that I could finally wear it today for church.
I would just like to say that I was very proud of this outfit.

Yesterday morning I watched the music video for this song on Vh1, I'd never heard it before but I really liked the song. Then last night I was buying new music and I decided to buy it. From that point on I didn't listen to anything else all night. I can pretty much sing the whole song by heart and I haven't even had it for a whole day yet. I even woke up listening to this song.
It's a good one.

My dear friend Katie Helms spent the night at my house last night. In honor of our friend Rhoda's birthday we decided to make a fun picture for her since she lives so far away. Out of the 104 pictures that we took, this is the one we decided on:
HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY RHODA BOETTCHER!!
we love you!

Lately I've been kind of blah!
I've been missing all of my friends like crazy, I wish I could see baby Adelaide, it's already freezing here and I hate the weather, I'm tired of writing paper after paper for english, and I just want to graduate already. the end.
This song, "Mighty to Save", has been stuck in my head lately. The other day I came home, sat down at the piano, and the sheet music for it was just there, perfectly placed in front of me. It kind of surprised me because I didn't even know I had the music for this song. But I'm glad I do now because I can't stop playing it. If you haven't heard it, go listen to it now... it's a good one!

295/365

Yesterday was a great day. My bff Kez had her third baby and it's a girl! Her name is Adelaide Christina Lyons. How cute is that?
I am so happy for so many reasons.
I'm happy that she finally has another girl in the house, I'm happy that my buddies have a little sister, and I'm happy that I now have a baby bff.
Oh I just can't wait until I get to hold her and play with her.
<3

This is completely random, but I woke up yesterday morning and as I was going downstairs I noticed the light coming from my sisters room was really cool. This picture doesn't capture it that well, but in person it looked way cooler!

294/365

on Tuesday my parents took us all out to see a movie. The boys saw some boy movie while my mom, my sister and I saw "Life as we know it"
It was a reall cute movie. It was sad, funny, romantic... everything. I enjoyed it!

293/365

Today is a BLAH day for sure.
I got new socks today... and once again my outfit doesn't match. But who cares, there's no one here I'm trying to impress anyway.

292/365

Yesterday I decided to do something different with my hair so I did this really thick twisty thing on the side. It ended up being a success and I was very pleased. For once my hair decided to cooperate with me. It must have been a lucky day because I don't know when that will ever happen again.
I also spent the whole day with my best friend Taylor. I love her so much and I wish we got to see each other more often. She makes me happier. <3

291/365

I babysat all day Saturday as well. This is my new friend. She decided to call me Strawberry Shortcake, so my nickname for her is Dora. She's a cutie!!

290/365

I babysat all day Friday and got home late, so this was a last minute picture.
I got this fortune the night before in my fortune cookie from Panda Express (which I enjoyed with my favorite orange chicken). It's pretty much the best fortune I've ever gotten because it told me exactly what I needed to hear. I will keep it forever!

This is what the sky looked like when I woke up on Thursday...
And this is what it looked like less than an hour later before I left for school...

288/365

On Wednesday Stephanie came and we went for a nice walk around the neighborhood and to the park. Wednesday was also a very nice day weather wise. The sun decided to come out and warm us up a bit. I was happy. It was a perfect day for Toms...

I forgot to take a picture on tuesday. =(

No School today!!!!

Nothing really beats sleeping in, waking up to the sun shinning through my blinds (which hardly ever happens), staying in my pajamas all day, having my hair in a super messy bun, eating cold spaghetti for lunch, buying new songs on itunes and really having nothing to do.

Oh how I wish we had more days off.

285/365

Yesterday was Sunday, and surprisingly a very good day for me.
After church my mom took me out to get a pair of jeans as a "we're proud of you" gift.
First we went to Levi's and let's just say that that store is exactly why I hate shopping. Talk about overwhelming and confusing. We then decided to go to American Eagle, because I LOVE their jeans and I know for a fact that they fit me well.
I only needed to try on a couple pairs before I found the perfect pair for me. I was satisfied.
I am now the proud owner of my first NEW pair of American Eagle Jeans.

I'll let you in on a little secret... Yesterday was the first day in who knows how long that I bought a new pair of jeans that weren't from a thrift store, and I'm proud of that.

Also yesterday my mom and I went to Vintage Faith church again, but this time we brought Taylor with us. I love Taylor so much and I love that church. It was a great ending to a great day.

284/365

Today I accomplished something great. I took the SAT for my second and last time EVER. I'm done. Man I really hate that test.
I was really dreading it today because I remember when I took it in May I was completely exhausted afterwards and didn't feel too great about it. But today was different. I felt good about most of my answers and it went by super fast. I wasn't too stressed out about it either.
So hopefully my scores are better than last time. We will just have to wait and see.

All this preparing for college stuff is stressing me out though. At least that's one more thing to cross off my "to do before college" list.

283/365

Katie Helms and I were talking earlier this week and she mentioned that she had something to give me. She was sending it with her mom to give to my parents since they were going to be spending the week with each other. I realized I had something that I could give to her too. So I did the same and sent it with my parents to give to her mother.
When my parents came back I was very exciting to see what Katie sent my way. And this is it!!
Don't laugh. I'm in love with it. It even sings.
I haven't had a singing high school musical bag since this summer when mine died.
So THANKS KATIE!

p.s. Stephanie... remember when my other bag started singing while Kelley was praying during camp fire??
good times, good times...

282/365

Sometimes I like to dress a little different when I'm just hanging around the house. I think it might embarrass my brother a little bit because the other day he was like "why do you always dress so weird?"
but whatever. I like my style. =)

my parents brought these slippers back from officers councils. They're really really soft. I like them.

281/365

This is my first attempt at making rainbow cupcakes, and they didn't turn out too bad.

So today after school I went to the CSU workshop. For about two hours I started working on college applications for the first time. I picked San Diego State to start with and I finished most of it while I was there. I just need to fill in a couple more things and then that one is complete. After that I have a few more to go.
How was I feeling afterwards? Exhausted.
What are my emotions? Half excited, half stressed.

let the games begin!

280/365

Sometimes, when I'm alone, I like to play the piano and sing really loud. I like the fact that no one can hear me except Ramona and God.

also, today I took the bus by myself for the first time. I've taken the bus plenty of times, but never alone, so I am very proud of myself.

oh, these are just a few of the things the doctor gave me.

277/365

Today was my first day helping out with Feed the Need since before the summer. It was good.
The rest of the day was spent doing homework. Mostly working on my senior exhibition background. urgh.

276/365

Yesterday was the last day of spirit week. Seniors wear black & white and then at the end of the day we have a rally. It's tradition for all the seniors to run/walk into the gym all pumped and stuff. I wasn't feeling pumpled (maybe because I really don't like rally's), so I walked into the gym making noise with this clapper. Jenny and I had fun with it.

later I went to an allergy doctor to see if I'm allgeric to anything that's causing my chronic headaches. I got to take this super cool allergy skin test. They poked me with 40 different things that people are commonly allergic too, and whichever one got all red, blotchy and scratchy was the one I was most likely allergic too. Only one came out positive. I'm allergic to dust mites. dust. how boring is that?
