Day 12: your guilty pleasure
"Crush" by David Archuleta

I just love this song. I can't get enough of it. I can listen to it all the time no matter how I feel. This song brings up so many different feelings inside of me it's crazy. But I love it, and you should too.

Day 11: A song that makes you think of your best friend
"I Kissed a Girl" by Katy Perry

yep. this is the truth.
It was a couple of summers ago and Taylor was spending the weekend with me. We were staying up late in my room just talking and doing crazy stuff, and we had the radio on the whole time. And I kid you not, this song was played after every other song, or so it seemed. So after that it just became one of those songs that makes us think of the other. She even took a pair of scissors and wrote the lyrics all over them, and I still have them.
I love you Taylor Covert.

Lauren discovered that when you cut the apples from our tree a certain way, there's a star in the middle.

Day 10: "A song that you would want played at your funeral"
????
This was a toughie. I have been trying to think about this for a couple days now and I just can't come up with anything. I even had my dad try and help me and I still couldn't come up with anything I liked. But as he pointed out, it's kind of a morbid thing to think about at the age of 17. And I agree. So I guess I'm just going to skip this one because I'm just stuck.

Yesterday we gave Ramona a bath.

Day 9: A song that I would want played at my wedding
"A Wedding Prayer" by Mary, Martha and the Mourners

This is a song that my dad wrote and sang a while ago. Him, and some of our family friends got together to play music when we lived in Puyallup and eventually recorded a cd. This is one of the songs on their cd. I've grown up listening to this song, but it wasn't until a few years ago that I realized how much I love it. It's so beautiful, and my dream is that someone I know will sing/play this song at my wedding.

Day 8: A song you can dance to:
"The Hoedown Throwdown" from The Hannah Montana Movie

This (along a few others) is a song that has a dance to it, that I am proud to say I know all the moves to. I love this movie. I love this scene in the movie. I love this dance. I had to learn the dance. So I did, thanks to youtube tutorials. And now whenever I hear this song I can't help but start dancing along. "Pop it, lock it, polka dot it..."

This picture is random, but I was trying to figure out how it could relate to what I wrote about. And then I realized that there's a lot of yellow in this picture, and whenever I think about The Hannah Montan movie, the first thing that comes to mind is yellow. no joke.

Day 7: A song that you know all the words to
"Baby" by Justin Bieber

Yes, yes, I know. What a shocker.
I am one of those people who can sing this whole song from beginning to end, rap and all.
But here's the thing, I don't have "Bieber Fever" and I'm not a "Belieber." I actually only know a hand full of his songs. I just really really love this song. Maybe because it reminds me of summer and Stephanie, and how we pretty much sang it all day everyday, I don't know. It's just fun, and I love it and it had to make it on here eventually.

here's proof that I (we) can sing the whole thing:

Day 6: A song that reminds you of somplace
"The Final Countdown"

Some of you that know me pretty well might think that this is such a random song for Emily to like/listen to. But for a few of you who actually read my blog, you could probably guess exactly where this song takes me back. That would be a little place I like to call Camp Arnold at Timberlake, summer 2010 and here's why:

This past summer I was a C.I.T along with my good friends Taylor, Samy and Alex. And part of our job was that every morning when our all the cabins headed to the flag pole for assembly, we would stay behind to check for peebags. That means we would go around to all the girl cabins and check every single campers' sleeping bag for pee. yes.. pee. hence the name "peebags".
So once we got all the sleeping bags, we would take them down to the laundry rooms to wash them. And pretty much every morning when we would leave girls town, right when we would pass the stump, this song would be playing in the exact same spot as the it did the day before when we were passing the same place.
It was kind of weird, but totally awesome.

And that is why this song makes me think of Camp Arnold.
this is my final countdown... crossing off the months until May (a.k.a. graduation)

Day 5: A song that reminds you of someone
"Single Ladies" Beyonce

This song takes me back to sophomore year. One night I stayed with Katie and as we were just chillin' in her room listening to the radio, I'm pretty sure this song was played after every other song. After we listened to the song all night while dressing up and dancing to it as well, the next morning we went on youtube and watched different peoples videos to this song. And oh baby... those were some good times. After that time spent with Katie we declared this one of our songs. Therefore, this song reminds me of my dear friend Katie Wachholz.
this picture is a little flashback

Day 4: A song that makes you sad
"The ice is getting thinner" by Death Cab for Cutie

This is one of those songs that, for some reason, I will play on repeat whenever I'm in a sad, depressed, or bad mood. I don't even know why because it's so depressing itself, that often times it will just make me feel worse.
But with that said, even though the lyrics themselves are gloomy because they're talking about a relationship (or friendship) that's falling apart, the music and vocals are still beautiful because, well...duh... it's Ben Gibbard.

Day 3: A song that makes you happy

Hey Soul Sister.
Whenever this song starts to play, whether it's on my ipod or on the radio or in a store, I can't help but move my head and  "hey" along with the beginning. To me, this is one of those songs that no matter what my mood is at the time, at least for 3 minutes and 37 seconds I am happy with a smile on my face, singing along.

Yesterday we hung out with Fulton and Bella Hawk. Isn't she adorable?

Day 2: Your least favorite song

It took me longer than I thought to think of a song that I really don't like. I went through my ipod several times and I still couldn't come up with something.  I'm sure there's lots out there, but none come to mind right away. So I decided to think of my least favorite camp song, because that is WAY easier since there's almost too many to count.

One of my least favorite camp songs would have to be the Tarzan song. I have started dreading this song ever since last summer when we (the waitresses) would sing it almost every week on monday nights. It just drives me crazy, and adds to the pile of annoying camp songs that I never want to hear again. At least I get about 10 months free of it before I have to sing it almost everyday for the whole summer.
Isn't this owl cute? It's actually a painted rock I think. I love it

233/365- "25 days of music" Day 1

Stephanie told me about this thing called "25 days of music" and I'm going to add it along with my 365. Each day I am going to post something different about a certain song in my life. My picture might go along with it depending on the song, but most likely not. So for the next 25 days you are going to get random pictures, but you'll learn a little bit more about how important music is in my life.

so here we go...

Day 1: your favorite song "Who I Am Hates Who I've Been" by Relient K (acoustic)

Well, this was hard for me because my favorite song changes probably on a weekly basis, and I just have so many songs that I would call a favorite. But the acoustic version of this song in particular is definitely one of my favorites. I just love the lyrics, the sound and everything it talks about. I know that I can definitely relate to the lyrics, and I'm sure a lot of others can too.

So go ahead, look it up (remember to look up the acoustic version) and maybe it will become your new favorite as well.

"so sorry for the person I became.
so sorry that it took so long for me to change.
I'm ready to be sure I never become that way again
'cause who I am hates who I've been
who I am hates who I've been"

232/365

So the other day I went out in my front yard and discovered a tree that was growing many small apples on it. This shocked me because I never knew we had an apple tree, and because the tree is so cute and tiny and it grows cute and tiny apples.
This might not be a good addition to our yard because my dog loves apples, and I love to give her apples, and we now have a never ending supply of them in our yard,  but I learned today that apparently these apples make her a little not ok in the stomach. Now what do I do?

p.s. I don't know how I feel about this picture. but the ones I took today didn't really turn out.

p.s. again... today was my first day of senior year...
